Mindful walk with Copper
Thank you so much for arranging the Walk with Copper this morning 😊. It was lovely being in that beautiful environment with a few colleagues. I live so close to the area we went and didn’t realise how much there was to see. Can’t believe how fresh I felt when I got back.  I’m really up for going again if we get chance. PS Thank Copper for providing brilliant entertainment
15 minute workshop: Introduction to Mental Health & Coping Strategies for young adults
Thank you so much for this – it was very informative and gave us much food for thought.
Tea & Talk Group
The Tea & Talk sessions have been extremely useful, providing staff with an outlet, an opportunity to release their frustrations and discuss thoughts and feelings which they have experienced during this very challenging time. Through conversation, I have gained a greater understanding of the challenges other staff members have been dealing with, causing me to self-reflect and think about how I would deal the same scenario. Coping techniques have been shared amongst colleagues, which have been put into practice and the following week we provided feedback.
Since participating in these sessions, I have not only improved my mindset but I have made new friends with staff who I would not necessarily meet during my working week.
THANK YOU SO MUCH PAIGE!
Tea & Talk Group
It was a such a breath of fresh air to have tea and talk in my life in such difficult times ... I am not good at giving myself 'me time'. During lockdown it was nice to talk with others who were experiencing the same feelings as I was. I gained some great tips and support from these people and Paige to get through a very difficult year.
Thank you Paige.
Tea & Talk Group
I really enjoyed doing tea and talk during the 3rd lockdown. Considering the circumstances that we were in as a nation/college/individually, I found it really hard not being able to see anyone and socialise normally with colleagues I’d see every working day. But with you providing a virtual safe place where you still had contact with people really made a difference. Whether you’d had a good week, a bad week, or anything in between, you were always encouraged to share. You were listened to and never felt like you was a burden. It was the perfect way to stay in contact with people and having some level or normality. It also benefited my mental health massively, knowing for that 1hr a week I was going to see people who I know would always make me feel so much better!
Tea & Talk Group
I have looked forward to Paige’s Tea and Talk each week. It has been a lovely way to connect with fellow colleagues during the lockdown. It was great to compare lockdown stories and feel supported during low periods.
I was particularly grateful for this when my husband developed a health issue. It was just enough to know there was a supportive group there. It was also particularly good to connect with staff from other departments, which you normally wouldn’t get the chance to do - unless you previously knew them.
Paige and my colleagues were very compassionate and supportive, I know the group would provide me with a space to feel heard. I feel I have made new friends!
Tea & Talk Group
Tea and Talk with Paige on a Friday has been fantastic. I initially joined as it was an opportunity to get to know other staff members and to keep contact with the college during lockdown. Over the last couple of months I have got to know Paige and other members of staff and have enjoyed the interaction. It has been useful to share experiences over this difficult time and kept me sane! I would recommend to Paige that this type of relaxed meeting continues. It would be a great to way to keep in touch with fellow colleagues. Thanks again to Paige for doing this and being a sound support. Love Copper, the therapy dog who has bounds of energy and love.
Training delivered to Adults and Young People
Body Language and Non-Verbal Communication Training to Young People
The training on body language and non verbal communication that you did as part of the peer mentor training was really beneficial and highlighted important aspects of their roles as mentors and what to look out for when speaking to learners.
The peer mentors who attended the session found it really valuable, as the role play element made them realise it’s not just what people say that matters and that they need to look at body language so they can identify other issues or factors that may be affecting the learner. It also made them realise and take note of their own body language when talking to other learners and how to engage them which is equally as important.
Thanks again and we hope that this training will still be available when we get the new recruits for peer mentors for the next academic year.
Thank you

If we have worked together, I would love to hear from you!
